Yedinci Kat World Literature Collaboration Program

Since its founding, Yedinci Kat Yayınları has been a publisher that believes literature knows no boundaries and seeks to bring voices from different geographies to readers in Turkey. Each book is seen as part of a potential new connection between cultures, a shared intellectual and aesthetic ground. This belief drives us not only to publish books but also to establish a lasting network of cultural exchange through literature.

As Yedinci Kat Yayınları, we aim to establish a lasting cultural bridge with representatives of world literature in various languages. Within this scope, the Yedinci Kat World Literature Collaboration Program is a long-term initiative that includes reciprocal book exchanges and joint publishing projects with international publishers.

Collaborations with publishers under this program are based on a two-way translation and publishing process. While foreign publishers bring the works of Turkish authors into their own languages, Yedinci Kat Yayınları translates and publishes selected books from them in Turkish. In this way, literature becomes not only a form of expression but also a tool for intercultural dialogue and the construction of a shared cultural memory.

The first agreements under this program have been signed with Delere Press and Erratum Press. Delere Press will translate and publish the second volume of Tugay Kaban’s Novel Trilogy, The Novel I Wanted to Sell to Orhan Pamuk (Orhan Pamuk'a Satmak İstediğim Roman), into English. Erratum Press, on the other hand, will render Selami Mete Akbaba’s work The Great Ideal of Humanity (Büyük İnsanlık İdeali) into their language.

Within the framework of these collaborations, Yedinci Kat Yayınları will also translate and bring to Turkish readers Jeremy Fernando’s Je Me Touche from Delere Press and Daniel Beauregard’s Lord of the Chaos from Erratum Press.

Yedinci Kat World Literature Collaboration Program marks the first step toward a literature that transcends borders. Each new partnership will be part of an encounter beyond language, an effort by different cultures to understand one another.

You will soon be able to find information on this page about the works we have translated and published, as well as those translated and published by others.
